Casey Zander: Artist, Teacher

 

I am passionate about art in all its forms, and love opportunities to share my passion and stoke the fires of budding artists. When it comes to art, I have varied interests and experiment in different media in order to find the right fit for a specific piece, including but not limited to drawing, painting, 3D arts, and metalsmithing. As a practicing artist, I am constantly trying to find the best techniques and methods for completing the vision I have, and I am always willing to try something new.

 

Giving students more than one outlet in which to express themselves is of utmost importance to me. Some students may not feel comfortable using words, but will be able to create an image that speaks volumes.

 

As a teacher it is my job, and my goal, to help students achieve their goals. This could be mastering a skill, or trying a new technique, but it is my job as a teacher to be a support for my students. The helping hand, the encouraging word, the eyes that see "all is NOT lost." 

 

After all, matter cannot be destroyed or created, but art allows us to rearrange that matter into a new visual design, and artists are the ones who do the rearranging.
